2013 ISC Finalist:

We are excited to announce that we are a finalist in the 2013 ISC (International Songwriting Competition) for our song ‘Dark Ghost (I’ve Got Arms).’ Roughly 1% of songs entered become finalists and this year there were over 20,000 entries worldwide. Now, it is up to a list of celebrity judges and music industry executives to decide the winner. Wish us luck!!

Our first hometown show of 2013 is coming up next weekend at the Summit Music Hall in Denver (3/9). We are part of the cast of CO misfits headed down to Austin for the annual SXSW music conference/festival. This show is a benefit to help all the Colorado bands get to Austin for the showcases. UK Release of Gasconader:

We are excited to announce that the small UK indie label, Choose My Music Records - which began as a music discovery blog for unsigned bands before morphing into a label - just announced that they will be releasing a UK version of GASCONADER. The special UK release will contain the original album tracks along with two additional live tracks: The Whale - recorded by Love Drunk Studios in February of 2012; Dark Ghost (I’ve Got Arms) acoustic version recorded by Ear Candy in January 2013.

Illegal Pete’s and Greater Than Collective will again be going down to Austin, TX to throw a few parties at SXSW. To help raise funds to throw the parties and help the bands get down to Austin, we are putting on a huge party at the Summit Music Hall. KTCL 93.3FM is sponsoring the event and at 10am today there will be $9.33 presale tickets. Get them while you can as the price will go up soon. Buying a ticket to this show supports some of your favorite local acts playing at one of the biggest music industry events of the year.

We are very thankful to have a station like OpenAir here in Denver. It is one of the most unique formats in the nation from a programming standpoint. Looks like the Bulbs are making some more ‘best of 2012’ lists. Dark Ghost (I’ve Got Arms) was just named one of the top 100 songs of 2012. We are right after Grizzly Bear and right before Of Monsters and Men. Not bad company.
